Family
- Weekend Effect
Today Is All We Have, So Love Each Other
With All Your Hearts
Bill & Mary Ann Vena
Dearest Lovers,
24 years ago, we made our original marriage encounter weekend.
We became a presenting team and met many wonderful teams in our
Los Angeles East encounter. One of those couples were Bob &
Sue Lewis. We had four young sons and Bob & Sue had two beautiful
daughters. One of their daughters, fourteen years old at the time,
and one of our sons began a friendship and years later became a
love. Billy & Sherry Vena married in 1994 about ten years
after they met. (Billy & Sherry are now a presenting team in
Las Vegas Encounter).
Bob & Sue, our friends became Bob & Sue, our family. As
years passed, we spent many holidays and wonderful birthday celebrations
as well as Christenings of three beautiful grandchildren, Billy
(named after my husband and son Bill), Robbie (named after Bob Lewis),
and just last Wednesday, October 13, 2004, their first daughter
Katelyn Rose Vena was born. As in the past, Bob & Sue and Bill
& I met at our kids home for yet another celebration. We celebrated
the baby's birth on Wednesday, enjoyed each others company at our
children's home on Thursday, and on Friday Bob & Sue and Bill
& I prepared to go back to our homes, us in California, Bob
& Sue in Lake Havasu Arizona, where they had retired at 53 years
old four years ago. Just another wonderful weekend together, except
this one was different. On that Friday night Bob Lewis died, he
was called home to our Father during his sleep.
Last Wednesday we celebrated the birth of our granddaughter together,
this Friday we will be attending Bob's funeral. When we share on
the weekend, that "Today is all we have, so love each other
with all your hearts," we really really mean it. Our daily
dialogue, our passion for each day with each other is our life.
As we hug each other a little tighter, and stare at each other
a little longer before we go to sleep tonight, please remember the
Lewis and the Vena families in your prayers. We will miss you forever
Bob.
Thank you for your prayers
