Algonquin Area April Family Potluck Gathering
Dear Encountered Community,
We wanted to share with you a really fun evening we had with our
community families. Our Algonquin Area Sharing Community recently
gathered to share a meal with a Family Potluck dinner. This is a
community tradition shared every month for over 14 years. Along
with our monthly couples gathering to share a presentation and dialogue,
our community enjoys getting our families together to share a meal
and fellowship. Our April potluck was hosted at the home of Garry
& Arla Thomas. After a delicious meal featuring grilled burgers
and dogs we got started on our family project for the evening. We
challenged our families to assemble the biggest banana split ever
created by an encounter community (at least the biggest ever built
by our community).

The parents rolled up their sleeves and scooped vanilla, chocolate,
and strawberry ice cream into a brand new (and washed) 6 foot long
vinyl gutter. While the kids eagerly awaited to add the toppings.
Once put together we served up a great dessert for everyone to share.
In minutes our 6 foot banana split was devoured by 5 families!!
Yummy!
With all our love,
Garry & Arla Thomas
