| Family - Weekend Effect WWME RV Continues to Touch Lives Gary & Marcia Daigle We thought we would give you an update on the current occupants & use of the RV Motor home so generously on loan to WWME from Chuck & Suzi Mantle of Punta Gorda, FL. Chuck & Suzi Mantle have been one of our Katrina “patron saints”. They immediately offered the use of their 24-foot RV to WWME families post-Katrina and drove it up to us in Gulfport, MS last September. Several WWME families have used their RV as “home” during the past months. Pictured below are Mike & Coreen Musselmann from St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Zainville, OH who came down to Slidell to help in the Katrina recovery. Mike & Correen did some repair work at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church here in Slidell. When our very own Tom & Michelle Barbry made the OLL St. Vincent DePaul group aware of a disabled couple (the McCartle’s) that needed assistance in re-building the Katrina-flooded home, the Musselmann’s volunteered and when our very own Jim & Theresa Stevenson learned they needed a place to stay while they repaired the McCartle home – our WWME RV home was offered for their use. I visited the McCartle home today and found Mike & Correen joyfully at work on the interior repairs! Mike was so excited to learn the RV came courtesy of WWME! He & Correen made their weekend in Ohio in 1972! They came back from their weekend “on fire” and determined to make a difference in the world. Unfortunately, a WWME circle was not active in their parish/area so they volunteered to take over the pre-cana for their church parish and ran it for 30 years!! Another WWME success story… and even when we don’t know it! Mike & Correen plan to call Chuck & Suzi and thank them for the generous use of their RV. Without it, the repair work of the McCartle home would take many more weeks or months to complete! We’ve invited Mike & Correen to our Northshore Circle in a couple weeks to let us all express our thanks for their loving generosity! The spirit of WWME and caring couples is still very much alive and well in the midst of chaos and debris! I (Gary) have to admit I felt a bit annoyed to have to be tracking down our RV, but God blessed me with a wonderful experience this morning in spite of my expectations of the day! It is GREAT to be amongst loving, caring couples and part of a Church & movement who cares for its people! Thank you Chuck & Suzi for the use of the RV. Thank you Tom & Michelle for being aware of the McCantle’s and calling in the St. Vincent DePaul Society and Thank You Jim & Theresa for putting WWME and St. Vincent DePaul together!
