World Marriage Day 2007
Gene & Maggie Tokraks
June, 2006
Greetings from your World Marriage Day National Team,
On World Marriage Day this year, celebrations of marriage were
evident all across the United States and in many countries of the
world. We are pleased that many churches and cathedrals celebrated
World Marriage Day this year.
It is now time to begin planning for World Marriage Day 2007.
World Marriage Day honors husband and wife as head of the family,
the basic unit of society. It salutes the beauty of their faithfulness,
sacrifice and joy in daily, married life. Your celebration next
February can be as elaborate as you want it to be. You may wish
to devote the entire theme of the Mass and liturgy to marriage including
a renewal of vows, or you may wish to simply recognize this special
day in the homily and have a special blessing of married couples.
Whatever you do will bring the goodness of the Sacrament of Marriage
to center stage for one important day.
Your World Marriage Day Clerical Package is enclosed and is also
available to be downloaded from the World Marriage Day Web Site:
