The concept of an electronic magazine to replace the paper issue of Matrimony was the 2003 vision of Bob and Huli Tabone, the United States Secretariat National Leadership Couple. Bakers, from the west coast, and Beckers, from the east coast, communicated by email the first time on February 17, 2003 to begin brainstorming how to develop what has become eMatrimony. George and Judy Denton who had just moved from Texas to Arkansas were recruited to design part of the home page. It has been over four years now and we hope Bob Tabone, who passed away in March of 2003, is pleased with how eMatrimony has grown.

Two persons, who have discerned that their lives are converging, encounter God's presence as they progress towards an intimacy which is expressed in a total response to each other, emotional, spiritual and genital. This intertwining of two lives which evolves only through the passage of years is the sacrament of marriage. It is both a commitment and an ongoing process. We are married and yet we are always marrying.

Happy Advent and Merry Christmas! We pray that during the next few weeks of Advent you and your loved ones will find time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. Seeing Christmas decorations in stores, sometimes before Thanksgiving is over, puts us in secular overload and can numb us to the true importance of Jesus' Birthday.
