Section 11 Inviting Challenge

Nick & Lori Jurado

TO: All Eight Encounters including all Leadership Teams in Section 11

FOR: the purpose of increasing our Inviting Activities to increase our Weekend Count and create such a demand for the Weekend, that scheduling more weekends will be necessary! By inviting more and in different ways, we also want to establish and nurture our relationships with the diocese we serve.

HOW: We are asking each Executive Team to make Inviting a high priority for your leadership term and to encourage more Inviting in more ways through your example and focus.

Enclosed are many valuable handouts and we want you to put some time and thought into what would work for your Encounter to be more Enthusiastic and “on fire” about Inviting. These may be new to you, handouts you’ve seen but haven’t used, something you can discuss with your Exec Boards or something that sparks another idea. WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN INVITING OTHERS TO SHARE IN THE GIFT THAT WAS GIVEN TO US? Why wait for the right time or the right answer? We can all Invite More, Worry Less, take Action and turn the results over to God.

So, here’s what we ask you to do to start this Inviting Challenge –

*Get the word out to your community - results will be announced at our Section Convention in July. The more we invite, the bigger winners we all become! Make sure your community knows about the Challenge now! Establish a Plan! The possibilities are great, considering your creativity and energy! You might:

- Consider monthly team sharing about both dialogue and Inviting, Establish a plan with your Inviting Couples (see Detroit plan) and/or set up an Inviting Council and have focus meetings.

- Write your own Inviting Prescription.

- Share Inviting Dialogue questions, ask different couples to share an Inviting idea they tried.

- Share what you find possible and exciting from the Informal Inviting Ideas, the Secretariat Small Group sharing ideas.

- Start or end all gatherings with Inviting prayer.

*Build momentum, be accountable - We need a monthly e-mail report from all Execs as to what Inviting Activity is happening in your area. You might make your own version of the Inviting Goal Setting & Planning Chart, changing quarter and year to month of and add any ideas you’ve had reported back to you. Or, you may just type us a note and include any and all activities like pulpit talks, j-blast, romance dinners, ideas from the informal inviting sheet or ideas from Secretariat small group sharing or the Marriage Encounter Quiz that all your Team Couples committed to give out or ideas and activity shared in your monthly Sharing Circles. We hope to see Out of the Box activities, renewed enthusiasm, and ideas we can share with each other.

Remember to include our military couples and religious orders in our Inviting efforts.

It’s as easy as 1-2-3. Please commit to this monthly report back to us and don’t worry about the scoring. We all win when we INVITE and we all have the same goal- MORE SACRAMENTS EXPERIENCING GOD’S WEEKEND!!! We need your info by the end of the first week of the new month. (January Inviting Activities by Feb. 7)

Please help us with this record keeping and most important, please have fun, be creative, and pray for all our efforts!

We love Worldwide Marriage Encounter and We Love All of You,

Nick and Lori Jurado/ Section 11 Weekend Pillar
