Inviting Ideas From the El Paso/Las Cruces
Area

Dear Lovers
Here are few ideas for inviting that have had some success in
the El Paso / Las Cruces area.
TEE Shirt Sundays
All Community couples attend Mass together wearing an ME tee shirt.
We do this once a month. This will show love and respect to a Priest
who has supported our movement, or catch the eye of a priest who
has not let us in to do pulpit talks, it also makes us visible to
our community. If the event can be scheduled with a pulpit talk
so much the better. After mass and handing out tri folds we all
go to lunch together. We also invite the priest. It is an eye catcher
when 3 or 4 rows in the church are all dressed alike or have ME
logos on their shirts.
The Scavenger Hunt
At a given time on Saturday when most churches are having Saturday
mass, have members of your community meet at some central location
like a mall with a food court. The couple running this event brings
several sealed envelops-each contains the name & address of
2 churches (we usually include a map). Each couple also gets 30
tri folds. Sometimes we include posters or flyers. After a dollar
or two anti, hugs and hellos, a sealed envelope is given to each
couple. At the signal each couple opens the envelope and goes to
the church’s assigned, their mission is to place the tri-folds
in the churches where people coming out of mass can see them and
take one, and to place the leaflets on the windshield of cars in
the church parking lot. The first couple to return wins the pot
(what was anteed) and all can share stories of the trip while eating
and it is great for building relationships. We do this to get tri-folds
out to churches where we haven't been recently.
Our Community has also volunteered to run a booth for a few of
the churches having fall festivals. We also wear our tee shirts,
hand out tri folds and plug our cause during these events. Feel
free to pass these Ideas along.
