Fall is Just Around the Corner
Bob & Joy Hernandez and Msgr. Chuck Kosanke
Dearest WWME Family,
Can it be that Fall is just around the corner? How did that happen
so quickly? We pray that all have had a safe, relaxing, and renewing
summer with friends and family.
We have an exciting and challenging change in our lives! In May,
Bob retired after 32 years with the TJX Companies. This has allowed
us some “breathing room” in our travels for WWME since
we don’t always have to rush to catch a plane on Sunday to
be ready for work on Monday! Being together 24/7 is an adjustment!
A happy adjustment, but an adjustment, nonetheless!
Our daily dialogue is indispensable is helping us share our feelings
as we enter this new phase of our lives!
We are currently building a new home in Lawrenceville, GA where
we hope to escape the cold New England winter. After a few years,
we will likely sell our home in MA and retire permanently to GA.
Our daughter, Julia, and her husband live about ½ hour from
Lawrenceville and we are looking forward to spending time with both
of them.
Msgr. Chuck is very busy welcoming new seminarians from Poland
to SS. Cyril & Methodius Seminary in Orchard Lake, MI. He was
able to attend a spiritual retreat in July and will be in Poland
in September. Msgr. Chuck also attended the Section 6&7 Convention
which, unfortunately, was cancelled due to a widespread power failure
following severe storms in St. Louis.
We are nearing the end of our 3 ½ year term as the U.S.
Secretariat Team. In February, the new U.S. Secretariat Ecclesial
Team will be selected by the 19 Section Leaders who serve on the
U.S. Secretariat Board. Serving our beloved WWME movement is an
incredible privilege and honor which has allowed us to meet many
of you personally. Please pray for all current and former U.S. Section
Leaders who are possible candidates for the Selection Process
in February, 2007.
Since our last loveletter in May, we attended the Section
11 Convention at Marywood Retreat Center in Orange, CA.
The weather was HOT, but the Convention was very COOL! The theme
was “Living A Counter-cultural Lifestyle: Rebels With
A Cause”. We felt very pleased that the theme complimented
our 2006 State of the Movement address which carried a similar message.
At the end of July, we attended the Interfaith Board
in Houston. We are always enlightened and inspired by our interfaith
family of lovers—Baptist, Episcopal, Lutheran, Mennonite/Brethren,
Presbyterian, Reformed, Seventh Day Adventist, United Church of
Christ, Orthodox, and United Methodist. What a wonderfully rich
and diverse WWME family!
In early August, we were happily in our own “backyard”
to facilitate the Section 1 Selection Process.
It was refreshing to be able to drive to and from a Selection Process,
particularly with the increased airport security restrictions!
Last weekend, we were with our five Hispanic Section Leaders—Section
14, Section 15, Section 16, Section 17 & Section 18. Section
18 hosted our Hispanic Section Leaders meeting
in Chicago. After our meeting concluded on Saturday, we were all
whisked away to attend a rousing Community event, complete with
a comedic portrayal of the “Rules For Fighting”, with
a couple in clown makeup mixing it up in a “boxing ring”.
We’re quite certain none of the Community will forget the
important guidelines for the tense discussions so necessary in any
healthy relationship!
August 18, we will be in Chicago once again to facilitate the Section
18 Selection Process. Please pray for all the couples &
priests who have said yes to the will of the Holy Spirit for their
lives as candidates for leadership.
During the Labor Day holiday, we will gather once again with our
dedicated and faithful Secretariat Support
Coordinators (SSC) who lead our
U.S. Pillars at the U.S. Secretariat. This is a very appropriate
date for us to meet since we will be “laboring” over
the 2007 U.S. Secretariat budget & goals! We meet in the home
of our U.S. Structure Pillar Coordinators, John & Ann Geer,
in Vienna, VA.
Shortly after our return, we will fly to El Paso, TX to facilitate
the Section 10 Selection Process. Please keep in
prayer all those who have said yes to the possibility of leadership
of Section 10.
Well, dear ones, this is a quick glimpse of our life and our service
to you. Please share our loveletter with
all those in your community.
We keep you continually in our daily prayers.
With love and admiration,
Bob & Joy & Msgr. Chuck
