WWME Inaccurately Portrayed on CBS Sitcom

Bob & Joy Hernandez and Fr. Chuck Kosanke

Dear friends,

We want every couple and priest to email CBS and enlighten them about our movement. This program was viewed by millions of people whose only concept of WWME will be the one wrongfully presented by CBS on their sitcom. We may never be able to undo the damage.

Please stop and take the time NOW to send an email, following the instructions contained in the following letter from Bill & Pam Walsh.

Much love,

Bob & Joy and Fr. Chuck

HI:

For the first time, we happened to watch "Yes Dear" on CBS on February 16, 2004. What caught our ear as Bill was channel surfing was "Marriage Encounter". So, we watched it. Well, what followed was really detrimental to Marriage Encounter. They had the Intro correct: Marriage Encounter is to help good marriages get better. However, when the program showed the couple on the Weekend, they were in a circle with a male group leader, and then one team couple who started talking about their sex life and then, passionately kissing. After that, the group leader announced that the show's main characters, a couple, were going to talk about their experiences and it was news to the male. He was saved from having to share about his sex life by having his friend show up to tell him about an 'aunt' who was dying.

A detailed synopsis of the episode can be found here:

We were so irritated about this that we e-mailed CBS. If anyone saw this, please e-mail CBS and tell them how they portrayed ME in a negative light. If you didn't see it, maybe you could write CBS and tell them about Marriage Encounter and set them straight. In our e-mail, we asked for a retraction as to what they showed.

Go to the "Yes, Dear" web site:

www.cbs.com/primetime/yes_dear/

At the bottom of the page, click on "Feedback".
From the dropdown menu, select "Yes, Dear".
Next to Message Type, click Complaint.
Fill in your names and email address.
Finally, put in an appropriate comment.

Write a letter on the subject and send it to:

Mel Karmazin, Chief Executive Officer
Viacom
524 West 57th Street
NY, NY 10019

Please copy the programming director, Leslie Moonves, at the same address.

Send a copy of your letter to CBS:

CBS Television
51 West 52nd Street
New York, NY 20975-4321

Finally, you may also want to contact the FCC:

Michael K. Powell, Chairman
Federal Communications Commission
445 12th Street SW
Washington, DC 20554

We believe all ME couples should inundate CBS with the concern that ME be portrayed in an accurate manner.

Love and Hugs
