Fr. Joe Testagrossa Called Home

Dear lovers,

It is with heavy hearts that we tell you that our beloved Fr. Joe Testagrossa passed away May 7 at 11:30 p.m.

Fr. Joe was one of the saints of our movement.  He made his first weekend in 1972 and was part of the team that brought the Weekend to Florida back in the "old days." Since that time he served as a presenting priest and leadership in New York for many years.

He came to Florida several years ago to run the Franciscan house here in St. Petersburg, and during that time has been the backbone of our Tampa community. His gentle, quiet, and wise presence has kept us on track through all of our ups and downs. He is best known for his unsuspecting and fabulous sense of humor.  We were privileged to present a weekend with Fr. Joe just two weeks ago and all of the couples on the weekend experienced Joe at his best. He told us that this was the most uplifting and powerful weekend experience he had had in many years. He was truly God present to us and our church-we will miss him.
