60 Years of Priesthood and a Quarter-Century of Presenting Weekends

Father Fred Sucher, CP, is a Team Priest currently in the Chicago-Gary Area. He has been involved with Worldwide Marriage Encounter for more than a quarter of a century. Father Fred, a member of the Passionist congregation, recently completed an admirable and noteworthy milestone in his life. On April 26th, he celebrated the 60th anniversary of his ordination!

We were blessed to have Father Fred be the Weekend priest April 23-25, 2004, and after the greeting with prayer couples, he was presented with a commemorative plaque, a cookie bouquet with symbols of his priesthood & WWME, and a cake, as well as many encountered couples sharing the love and hugs.

Greetings and Thanks in the Lord!
At the close of the recent Weekend, the Community honored my 60th Anniversary of Ordination with a commemorative plaque and a beautiful assortment of cookies emblazoned with symbols of Priesthood and the Encounter. I wish to offer my thanks and pledge of love and service. Your most meaningful gift to me is sharing in the love and support you offer to couples and priests in the Encounter. I have been privileged to share your ministry and love for more than a quarter of a century—many of those years right here in the Chicago area. For that I am deeply grateful.
The Lord has been good to me and prolonged my days. My thanks to the leaders and teams I have shared with, and the hundreds of couples met in passing. How wonderful to know we are all meant “to meet merrily in heaven” (St. Thomas More).
