Bishop John J. Kaising, Auxiliary Bishop
of the Archdiocese for Military Services, to serve as Worldwide
Marriage Encounter Episcopal Moderator
San Bernardino, CA,
January 7, 2005
Bob & Joy Hernandez explained: “Bishop Jack, as he is
affectionately known in WWME, experienced a Worldwide Marriage Encounter
Weekend in 1978 and has served our movement in leadership at many
levels, most recently as a Cadre Presenting Team. He is currently
involved on the Core Committee for the WWME 2005 National Convention
and is actively participating in the WWME out-reach to married couples
in the military.”
“The Episcopal Moderator for WWME is a role accepted by a
member of the episcopacy to serve as liaison between WWME and the
greater Church, to speak the vision, values and mission of WWME
to the episcopacy in the United States (USCCB),to advise WWME on
matters pertaining to marriage and family that may be addressed
by the USCCB, and to offer wisdom, guidance and prayer for all in
WWME,” the Hernandez concluded.
Bishop Skylstad commented: “For over 25 years, Bishop Kaising
has worked with Worldwide Marriage Encounter. As one very familiar
with the movement and active in its work, he is an excellent choice
to become the Episcopal Moderator of WWME. I extend to him congratulations
and prayerful support as he begins this new role in support of married
couples.”
