Saturday, February 12, Our Connecticut Marriage community came
together to celebrate World Marriage Day with a dance. It all started
with a few couples doing setup on Saturday afternoon. Everything
went together smoothly and before we knew it St. Thomas School cafeteria
was transformed into a romantic setting.

Within a few hours the room was filled over 55 couples which quickly
turned that cold February evening into a warm welcoming feeling.
The couples that attended the dance ranged from our newly encountered
couples right off the January 2005 weekend to some of our very seasoned
couples.

It was a time to get reacquainted with couples we hadn't seen for
quite awhile. The feeling in the room was one of excitement and
celebration. It was rejuvenating to see so many couples openly showing
the love in their hearts for each other. We are proud to say that
our Connecticut community pulled together and donated items for
a raffle to raise money for one of our Marriage Encounter couples
(Ron and Christine Lee). Ron is currently waiting for a heart transplant.
The Lees had been Connecticut's Hosting Couple in 2000 & 2001.
We were able to raise some money to help defray some of the medical
costs.

The night ended, as it is our tradition when we all come together
as a community, by singing our Marriage Encounter theme song: "There
is a New World Somewhere."
