Section 11 Inviting Challenge a Success
Lesley Bradley
In April, Section 11 shared the weekend with nearly as many couples
as they had through the whole first quarter of the year. That’s
what an inviting challenge can do!
Section 11 has 8 Local Areas. Weekend Pillars Nick & Lori Jurado
were on fire when they began brainstorming to increase the numbers
experiencing weekends in Section 11. Since each area had an April
weekend scheduled, it was the perfect month for a challenge. It
was a complicated “mathematical” scheme, but, briefly,
points were awarded if a weekend had 20+ registrations, whether
there were priests scheduled participate and whether there were
personal invitations for couples to attend. On the other hand, points
were subtracted for weekends with less than 20 couples, no shows
and cancellations.
Section 11 Inviting Challenge
Points will be awarded and deducted for the following:
10 points for having a weekend in April
5 points for having 20 couples scheduled
1 point for each couple over 20 scheduled
2 points for each priest scheduled
-1 point for every each couple leaving the
weekend
-1 point for every lost couple on friday
night - either cancelled or no show
5 points for 20+ couples completing the weekend.
Special bonus: 2 points for every personal
invitation (A name must appear in the "who told you about
the weekend?" line on the couple's registration form)

Prizes, yes, there were prizes. The main prize, of course, was
that Section 11 had more couples experiencing the weekend and potentially
moving into community groups. But the area that accumulated the
most points also enjoyed a pizza party, and their Executive Team
shared a dinner with Section Leadership. The competition was fierce,
and the winning area outscored by only one point! Congratulations
to LA West and their Executive Couple, Winston & Pansy Greene
who personally invited eight couples to the weekend – and
then they presented the weekend!
In total, there were six weekends in Section 11 in April. 121 couples
and one priest experienced the weekend. Great job, Section 11!
