There's Chili In The Air in San Diego

The San
Diego ME communities are getting ready for their Fourth Annual
ME Picnic
to be held on August
6, 2005.
Now, most picnics are fun but they are, in fact, just picnics. Lots
of hamburgers, some hot dogs for the kids, cole slaw, potato salad,
and a true variety of desserts.
The San Diego couples are taking their picnic in a whole different
direction. Excitement is already brewing! Last year these couples
participated in a heated chili
cook-off. Crockpots
and extension
cords were everywhere! Everyone who came to the picnic was allowed
to taste the chili – not just two or three judges like in
most cook-offs – everyone had a vote. Believe it or not, one
recipe included grape
jelly!
After the competition, one couple shyly admitted that a can of fruit
salad accidentally fell into their concoction (although theirs didn’t
win, it was one of the top contenders!).
The date for this year’s picnic was just announced and already
crockpots all over the city are warming up to allow ME chefs to
massage their favorite recipes. But we’d like to heat up the
competition even more! San Diego is open to special or unique chili
recipes from ME couples all over the country. Send us your recipe,
we’ll find someone to prepare it, and we’ll enter it
into the competition for you! Email your recipe to:
. Or, search out one of the many San Diego couples who will be at
the Towson
Convention and hand your recipe over!
