WWME Reaching Out to Encountered families
Devastated by Hurricane Katrina.
Jack & Angel LaBate and Fr. Dennis Hughes
Dearest Lovers,
As most of you know, New Orleans, Alabama and Mississippi are
in Section Five which includes seven of the southeastern states.
Many couples in Section 5 wanted to do something to help the families
who are suffering from losses due to hurricane Katrina. After discussion
with Bob & Joy and Fr. Chuck, we took on the responsibility
of setting up a data base to collect the names of couples who would
like to help.
We now have many couples from all over the country, as well as
many in Section 5 who have responded quickly with much love and
concern. They have offered to open their homes to WWME families
in need. At this time Chuck & Suzy Mantle from Punta Gorda,
Florida are making plans to take their motor home filled with basic
supplies and a generator to Gary & Marcia Daigle, Local Area
Leaders in New Orleans. John & Sally Carson, Local Area Leaders
for Northwest Florida, and their sharing group in Pensacola, are
taking a truck load of much needed items and a generator to help
that same community.
The WWME National office in California has established a Katrina
Fund and all donations will go directly to those encountered families
who are in desperate of our help. We encourage you to consider donating
to the fund. There are several families at this time who have lost
all of their belongings and their homes except for the basic structure.
These families do not know when they will be able to return to
their homes and do not know when they will be back to work. It will
be a long time before they get back to normal. Please send a donation
today. You can donate by check or use a credit card by calling into
the National Office. See the contact information below.
Thank you for your help. God bless.
Love you,
Jack & Angel and Fr. Dennis
