Section Convention Planning Begins

Plans are already underway for the Section 11 Convention – July 15 and 16, 2006 – in Orange, California. The community pillar couples met in San Diego recently and, after brainstorming the day away, they proposed their theme and it was approved by the Section leaders.

San Diego Encounter Plans a “Deacons Only” Weekend

The October 14-16 weekend presented by the San Diego Encounter has been designated as a “deacons only” weekend. The deacons (or candidates) and their spouses were given a Marriage Encounter Weekend as one of their choices for the enrichment weekend this year. Nineteen couples are registered for this very unique weekend.

San Diego ME Camps Out

Continuing an annual event, the San Diego ME community spent a camping weekend away together. In addition to relaxing, swimming and enjoying family and friends, the group dialogued, attended Saturday evening Mass together and then enjoyed a giant potluck under the stars.

Angel Adventure

Already preparing for the holidays, the East County Community in San Diego has adopted two families for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. This group has been adopting a different family each year for several years, but in 2004 there were so many ME couples in this community that they adopted two families for the first time. The ME community will provide all the fixins for a Thanksgiving feast for each of the two families and then will provide gifts, toys and Christmas dinner, too.
