Take Us Out to the Ball Game
Bob & Joyce Leonetti
On Saturday night July 28th, South Jersey Marriage Encounter gathered
as a community to enjoy the Great American Pastime. Bob & Michelle
Dooley organized this annual community night at the Atlantic City
Surf- a minor league team in the Can-Am League. Fifty seven adults
and children sported their M.E. finery and cheered wildly when the
group was announced. This year there were a few twists.

Paul & Mary Lou O'Neill made their night at the ballpark a family
affair by bringing along new grandson, Jack.
The Surf permitted South Jersey W.W.M.E. to place a table in the
concourse which was used as an inviting opportunity. There was a
drawing for free Weekend registrations, M.E tri-folds, and assorted
other Weekend information. Couples took turns working the booth.
Heart shaped “stress balls” with the M.E. Logo and South
Jersey contact info were given out at the table and thrown to the
crowd during the game. They were a big hit with the crowd.

The Surf also permitted us to make announcements during the game
listing our next Weekend dates. Another announcement asked South
Jersey coordinators Joe & Thea Hegarty how their
dialogue was. It was a fun evening for adults and
children alike and a great opportunity to bring the message of the
Weekend to a world that deserves it!
