Dear Lovers,
We wish all of you a wonderful week as we Catholics
celebrate the two feasts of All
Saints Day and All
Souls’ Day. All Saints Day is a holy day of obligation
celebrated on November 1. It originated in the West in 609, when
Pope
Boniface IV dedicated the Pantheon to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
All Souls Day is commemorating the faithfully departed on November
2. The celebration was originated by Abbot Odo of Cluny in his monasteries
in 998. Pope
Benedict XV granted all priests the privilege of offering three
masses on this day: one for all the poor souls, another for the
Pope’s intentions and the third for the intentions of the
priest. For a little guidance in prayer life we offer in Prayer/Prayers
some thought provoking ideas in Prayer:
A Dialogue with God and in Dialogue/Guidelines
& Suggestions a priest’s perspective in Dialogue
– The Heart of Celibate Spirituality.
