Dear Lovers,

Happy Advent and Merry Christmas! We pray that during the next few weeks of Advent you and your loved ones will find time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. Seeing Christmas decorations in stores, sometimes before Thanksgiving is over, puts us in secular overload and can numb us to the true importance of Jesus’ Birthday. Included in this News Flash under Family/Seasonal Activities are two articles the first Celebrating Christmas includes efforts to help children be a part of Jesus’ birthday. The second, Barn Mass Brings Home Advent for Central Florida, tells of a growing annual event to begin Advent.

Also highlighted in this News Flash are the following articles:

Under Resources/Miscellaneous
A Tribute to Staff Sergeant Joseph M. Kane, US Army is a poem offered by a cousin in remembrance of a hero who will never again be physically home for Christmas. Happy Birthday to You’s asks the question what kind of gifts we might receive if we considered our wedding anniversary as the birthday of us as a couple.

Under News/Section/Local
We get to share the local excitement in The Holy Spirit is Alive in the San Bernardino, CA. Community.

Under Family/Weekend Effect
An Open Letter invites us to consider what is involved in keeping the Weekend alive in our relationship.

Under Resources/History
This Year’s (1981) Convention is #10 takes us on a journey through the first nine Marriage Encounter conventions.
