Bush Dear President Bush, We are Bob & Joy Hernandez and Rev. Dr. Charles G. Kosanke, the United States Secretariat Team for Worldwide Marriage Encounter (WWME). For over 35 years, WWME has pursued its mission of renewal in the Church and change in the world, while offering programs to encourage and support married couples and the clergy. We applaud and support your proclamation of Marriage Protection Week and agree wholeheartedly that marriage between a man and a woman is a sacred institution essential to the continued strength of our society. WWME is a non-profit organization composed of seven secretariats around the world: Asia, Canada, Europe, Latin America, Pacific, Africa and the United States. We offer the WWME experience to married couples, priests, and religious in 83 countries and 11 faith expressions. Our focus is to support committed and faithful vocations, whether married or religious. We do this by providing a faith-centered experience for couples, priests, and religious to assist them in living fully intimate and responsible relationships and by offering ongoing community support to encourage family values. We enthusiastically join you in your call to all Americans to express support for the institution of marriage with all its benefits to families, our culture, and our society.
