Section 6 & 7 Convention 2004 Announcement
Tom & Caroline
Hi everyone...we thought we'd put some information out about the
next ME Convention coming up. It will be our Section Convention,
different than the National Convention that all of us from Section
6 went to this past June...but, we've heard it's just as great...and
they give away really cool pens too!:-)
We wanted to give you a little insight as to what we thought of
the National convention. We have never been to anything like this
convention in our lives. It was incredibly inspiring to see so many
couples dedicated to their marriage. The presentations were heartfelt
and very moving... it opened our eyes up to a lot of what others
go through in their marriages and yet... they still continue to
work on their love for each other.
To see the number of Priests, Bishops and ArchBishops there was
overwhelming. I had goose bumps just seeing them at the Masses.
They too were so inspired and proud to be there and to be amongst
people who believed in the unity of Marriage. This was one of the
most incredible sights of the weekend (the other sight was Tom's
M.E. tattoo!!!:-))
Another thing that happened to us that weekend was a rekindling
spirit to dialogue with each other. We, like a lot of others, became
very complacent in our non-dialoguing and chalked it up to being
just too busy to dialogue. But one thing we realized there, that
by us not dialoguing we are telling each other that we do not even
have 20 minutes in a day to spend with each other...and that made
us feel really badly for each other. We thought that even though
our children are very young still...what will we be like in our
relationship after they are grown and off to school somewhere...is
that when we will start dialoguing or will we be too far apart from
each other by that time.
It's a total crapshoot to know what we will be like as "empty-nesters".
I know, but we vowed that we owe it to ourselves and our children
to dialogue and become closer... hence, teaching our children what
it means to love your spouse as a whole. It's rather kind of humorous
to see us sending Samuel & Helena to the other room while dad
& mom do their "homework" (which is how we explained
it to them since they're both so into this school & homework
thing) but...with each day, it gets a bit easier. Now, that's not
to say we haven't skipped a day here or there, but we just jump
right back on the wagon and pick up as if we hadn't skipped.
Okay okay...I know I just rambled on a bit too much about the
convention and dialogue...please forgive me, I guess I was just
caught up in the moment:-)!
Seriously, maybe if you join us at the 2004 Convention in Columbus
you too will find a renewed sense of dialogue and deepened love
for your spouse.
So...enough with my testimonies and nonsense...here's the pertinent
information you'll need to join us at the Columbus Convention. There
were four couples that went to this past convention and to say we
had a rip-roaring blast would be putting it mildly. After this past
convention, we really don't want to miss another one...it was just
so much fun and so invigorating!
