To Keep in Your Prayers
Please pray for all on this list of intentions for the
WWME Community.
Please add your intentions by emailing them to
You need not pray for each intention individually, but of course
you may if you like. We suggest the following prayer for all these
intentions:
"Lord, bless and keep all those in need of your loving
care, grace and guidance, especially those on the WWME Community
Intentions list."
We ask for your prayers today and in the weeks to come for our ME
couple in Houston North - Jimmy Gallanos, his wife Linda and their
family. Jimmy has been fighting leukemia for some time now and they
were told by the doctors that all of their treatment has been unsuccessful
and have no other line of treatment that might offer hope of remission.
They recommended that Jimmy receive hospice and focus their efforts
to making him as comfortable as possible. Linda has said that they
expected him to remain with them only a few weeks longer. Of course,
no one can be sure.
We ask you for your prayers for all of the family. Linda shared
that even in all their grief and saddness, that they can't imagine
how they could make it through this without all the love and prayers
for so many. Please remember them in prayer.
Yours in Christ,
Allen & Monika Fields & Fr Rich Beck

Update:
It is with great sadness that we bring to you the news of the passing
of our friend Jimmy Galanos. Jimmy died in his home with his family
around him at 9:30 pm Friday night, August 24, 2007. Linda told
us that he died peacefully and without pain. Linda and Jimmy's family
have come into town and will be with her and the children this week,
so Linda wanted everyone to know that she is ok for now.
Jimmy & Linda Galanos have served our Marriage Encounter Community
as a Presenting couple for seven years. We thank God for the gift
that they have been for us. When we think of Jimmy we will remember
his strong faith, devotion to Linda, his perseverance, his laughter,
his candor, his strong hugs, his passion for this ministry and his
love for us.
Please pray for the Galanos family.
Yours in Christ,
Allen & Monika & Fr Rich
Please keep Fr. Jim Thornton in your prayers. He has decided to
go to Notre Dame to his order's assissted care facility for treatment
of his knee injury. It is not known at this time what the definite
problem is but he will be seeing doctors there and will get the
best care available. Please relay this request to your Areas as
Fr. Jim has given weekends in many locations.
Love,
Wayne & Marcia Kessler
Update:
Please continue to pray for Fr. Jim. When we spoke with Fr. Jim
last Thursday, he was telling us of the plans for him to go home
from the rehab unit over the weekend. He also mentioned that he
was having trouble eating and keeping anything down. When we spoke
with him yesterday, he was back in the hospital due to that problem.
Marcia tells me it is C-diff, which is a systemic infection that
causes nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. It was mid afternoon when
we were speaking yesterday and one of his fellow priests had brought
him a milk shake and it was the first thing he had kept down in
about a week. He was also telling us that they were talking of sending
him back to the rehab last night or today.
Our suggestion for cards and/or letters would be to send them
to his home address and they will see that he receives them. With
the moving around from one facility to the other, the mail would
have a great possibility of getting lost.
Love,
Wayne & Marcia
Update:
We wanted to give you a brief update on Fr. Jim. Last Friday when
we spoke with him he was anticipating another 2 weeks in rehab.
We have not connected with him since but when we got home from a
meeting tonight he had left a voice mail that he was back in the
hospital with concerns about his heart. He will not be able to be
with us next week for our Section Board Meeting. He also asked us
to take him off any weekends he was scheduled for in September.
We will follow up with a call to him tomorrow evening and get more
info and pass it on. Please continue to keep him in your prayers.
Love,
Wayne & Marcia
Praise the Lord and thank you for all your prayers! Ralph had his
second total knee replacement (left one) done today and he is doing
well. He needed to have general anesthesia instead of the epidural
he had on the other one six weeks ago due to "thin blood",
but is dealing well. His spirits are good and he is managing the
pain and getting the mobility going. We both appreciate your continued
prayers for a complete and speedy recovery.
Love,
Dotty (and Ralph) Cornette
