Priest’s
Corner - World Priest Day
Chicago-Gary Activities for World Priest
Day 2006
Bob & Judi Hornback
The WWME Communities in the Chicago-Gary celebrated WPD 2006 by
sending a note to every priest in both dioceses, all 1,829 of them!
We created a tri-fold using the WPD logo, the WWME logo, the WPD
prayer, and some words of love and thanks. Seven Community couples
gathered one Saturday afternoon to cut, fold, stuff, label, and
stamp. Many Communities donated stamps for this effort, and the
mailing went to the Post Office. We have received numerous cards
(and even emails) of thanks from our priests. We are making a difference!

In addition to the work we did and pizza we shared, we were blessed
to have been able to pray at the feet of Our Lady of the New Millennium,
who just happened to be visiting St. Victor's Parish in Calumet
City, IL, where we gathered that Saturday. Our Lady of the New Millennium
is a 33 foot tall, 8400 pound statue of Mary, blessed by Pope John
Paul II, that tours the Archdiocese of Chicago.
