| Priest's Corner - Appreciation My Friend John Jack & Karen Baker Father John McCluskey/My Friend John
There is no doubt in my mind that thousands of couples have been touched by the wisdom of the now 88 year-old Fr. John McCluskey. Several have admitted to wondering on Friday night of their Weekend how they could relate to the white haired old priest and would he even make it through the Weekend. By Sunday they all admit to their love of the once pompous priest who demanded to be called Father McCluskey and now prefers to be called John. Born in Seattle, Washington in April 15, 1914, ordained a priest on June 17, 1945 made his first Marriage Encounter Weekend in 1978. Father John at the age of 68 learned Spanish so he could help his Hispanic brothers and sister experience the Marriage Encounter Weekend. Father John has probably presented somewhere around 500 Weekends. Fr. John is currently recovering from a broken hip and we know he would appreciate hearing from you, his Marriage Encounter family.
