The first Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend ever given in Hindi
(the national language of India)
was held in Ranchi,
India during the weekend October 5-7. The team was made up of all
local couples; Marcel & Josephine Hembron, Igrace & Anastesia
Lokra, Caesar Paul & Laetitia Kachlap and Fr Vincent Topp, SJ.
Eleven couples, two priests and eight nuns participated in the Weekend.
Fr. Pepe, who was an observer, commented afterward that “it
was a beautiful Weekend. The seed is planted; we have to keep it
watered. Surely, the Lord will make it grow." All the banners,
posters, name tags and handouts were translated into Hindi - for
the Weekend. Everyone involved agrees that this is another big step
in sharing the gift of the weekend with the millions of the India
subcontinent.
